Beyond the brochure
A website explains the business. A well-built system helps operate it.
Web applications
We build focused tools for processes that no longer fit comfortably inside email threads, paper forms, or one-size-fits-all software.
AI reception & automation
River™ Reception
Built by River & Rail. Powered by Railbed Voice. We create inbound AI receptionists that can answer routine questions, collect caller details, request appointments, route urgent calls, and summarize every conversation.
Custom systems receive a written scope, delivery schedule, and ongoing-support options before development begins. Usage-based services such as calling, messaging, and AI processing are priced separately.
The foundation beneath every build
Custom on the surface. Proven underneath.
Railbed is the lightweight foundation we’re developing for River & Rail websites. It gives every project the same reliable engineering essentials without forcing every business into the same recycled theme.
Railbed is currently in development. River & Rail clients help shape what becomes part of the foundation.
A more direct process
We learn what the business does, who it serves, and where the current experience falls short.
You get a clear scope, a real price, and an honest recommendation—before the work begins.
We design, develop, test, and launch. You see the work as it takes shape and know what comes next.
Hosting and ongoing care are available, without trapping you in a platform you don’t control.
Limited local promotion
For select local businesses whose new website concept is already built, we can skip much of the discovery work—and pass the savings along.

Promotion details: The $750 Launch Partner rate is offered only to invited businesses with an existing River & Rail concept and assumes the site launches substantially as presented. Additional pages are $50 each for Launch Partner websites, $100 each for Custom Business websites, and $75 each for Growth websites. These prices use an established layout and client-supplied content; custom layouts, copywriting, advanced features, and substantial redesigns are quoted separately. The first year of managed hosting is included and renews at $120/year. Hosting renewal is optional, and the finished site remains yours. Ecommerce, applications, and unusually demanding hosting require a custom scope.
The person behind the work
I’m Leon Rigsby. I live and work in the Ceredo–Kenova area, and I built River & Rail because businesses deserve better options for the web.
I also run Wonkeeland Appliance Repair, so I understand the practical side of this: answering the phone, earning trust, watching costs, and needing a website to produce something more valuable than compliments.
River & Rail combines that owner’s perspective with design and engineering—from websites and operational web apps to Brandi, the AI receptionist built for Wonkeeland. That same practical approach shapes our free utilities: DiskGolf helps people understand their storage, Groundskeeper helps with cleanup and exact duplicate review, and Tuck puts loose files in order. We build useful things and explain them plainly.

A useful place to start
Send us your current website. We’ll take a practical look at its mobile experience, speed, search fundamentals, accessibility, and ability to turn visitors into customers.
No automated score dump and no obligation—just a concise human assessment of what is working and what deserves attention.
Straight answers
Yes. DiskGolf explores your storage, Groundskeeper reviews cleanup and exact duplicates, and Tuck organizes loose files. All three are free Windows utilities, offered as beta or preview releases. You do not need to be a River & Rail client to use our free utilities. Explore the collection.
Yes. Groundskeeper is available as a free beta for Windows 11 x64, with an installer and portable ZIP. Get Groundskeeper.
Yes. Your domain, content, and finished website remain yours. We do not use ownership as leverage to keep you on a hosting plan.
Usually not. We prefer lightweight, purpose-built sites with fewer maintenance and security headaches. If a project genuinely benefits from a content-management system, we’ll explain why.
The first year of managed hosting is included with our website packages. Standard business websites renew at $120 per year. Hosting is included with both monthly care plans. More demanding sites are assessed individually, and you can always move the site elsewhere.
Every website includes a search-ready technical and on-page foundation. A one-time SEO Tune-Up starts at $300, and a more complete Local SEO Setup starts at $500. We do not promise specific rankings.
Absolutely. We can connect an existing domain, help transfer it, or help you choose and register a new one. The domain should always be registered in your name.
A focused business site will often take two to four weeks once content and approvals are moving. Larger sites and custom systems receive their own schedule.
We’ll assess it honestly, but replacing a fragile or heavily patched site is often better value than continuing to repair it. We’ll recommend the option that makes sense.
River can answer approved questions, collect leads, request appointments, send follow-up messages, summarize calls, and transfer callers according to defined rules. We configure clear limits and a human fallback for anything uncertain or sensitive.
Applications are scoped around workflows, users, integrations, data, and ongoing support rather than page count. Focused internal tools generally begin around $3,500, while larger customer-facing systems receive a custom proposal.
